Neon lights up cruising night

Neon store lights add an American Graffiti feel to this Mustang at dusk.

55 Chevy on the road

Photo of a classic 55 Chevy - souped up and racing down the road. The image was doctored in Photoshop to add blur along with the grainy, vintage toned look.

59 Cadillac - one huge automobile

The 1959 Cadillac - one of the most iconic automobiles of the 20th Century due in no small part to those massive tail fins. The fins of course were in proportion to the car itself which was massive.

Shot in color I converted the image to black and white and then decided bringing back the red of the tail lights gave it a bit more pizazz.

V8 Ford Rat Rod

A black and white detail photo of the louvered hood of a rust coated 1930's Ford V8 coupe.
I believe it was Chuck Berry who said, "nothin' will out run my V8 Ford". This V8 is still running - rust and all.

Headlight and Spring

A close up shot of the front fender and suspension of a nicely restored hot rod. The original black and white image appeared somewhat stark so I added a filter to warm up the image. The horizontals, diagonals and circles keep the eye moving around the image.

Yellow Monolith

A screaming yellow paint job and the long rear deck of a beautifully restored 1966 Dodge Charger stands like a monolithic structure against a blue sky. 1966 was the first year for this classic muscle car. It is always great to see one still out there and in such great condition.

Up close and personal with a Sixties Camaro Z 28.

Just added this image to my "Cruising" store on Zazzle . Originally photographed at a car show during the Dream Cruise in 2009, I did some heavy Photoshop work to create a custom car in the spirit of 1960's show cars from the likes of George Barris, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and others. I may never have the chance to fabricate a custom car of my own out of sheet metal, but it is possible to create a virtual one with a bit of digital magic.

Farewell to cruisin' 2010

The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting cooler and pumpkins have begun to pop up everywhere you look. Summer is really over and with it the car cruising season, although I still see the occasional die hard driver, tail pipes roaring, making his way up the road. As a fond farewell to another year of cruising, here are a few shots of cool cars taken during the past months. You can almost smell the exhaust.
