The 1959 Cadillac - one of the most iconic automobiles of the 20th Century due in no small part to those massive tail fins. The fins of course were in proportion to the car itself which was massive.
Shot in color I converted the image to black and white and then decided bringing back the red of the tail lights gave it a bit more pizazz.

Passing over the overpass
The road that this structure supports appears rather mundane as you travel by car along its concrete expanse. Photographed from below however the roadway takes on a much more graphic appearance. The black and white image highlights the dramatic contrast range from bright white to deep black in the shadow area.

Old school gas station signs
There is something about old school gas station pumps that always attracts my attention. They are much more interesting than the modern computerized pumps that don't warrant a second look. The overcast day gave the image a boost by creating contrast between the lighted signs and the gray clouds. For graphic contrast, I included the angled roof line to frame the pump toppers.

Stumbling upon photo opportunities
You never know when you may come across an interesting subject to photograph. I was out and about in a garden area checking out flowers or trees to shoot when I came across this rusty old spigot handle. The texture of the corroded metal and the shapes made for one of the more eye catching photos taken that day.

Mysterious marble ball
Like the monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey, I stumbled upon this marble ball just sitting there in a totally incongruous environment.
